We are into our fifth season and we embrace the opportunity to welcome back many of our clients and their friends. The chalet’s balconies really give you the opportunity to soak up the mountain scenery and the chalet’s garden is a suntrap for summer barbecues and a great place to relax on those great sunny winter afternoons. And new for this season an outdoor hot tub.

Situation
The Onwards and Upwards Alpine Chalet is situated in the picturesque alpine village of St Jean d’Aulps, just 5km from Morzine. The Chalet sleeps 10-12 adults comfortably. All 5 of our guest bedrooms have en-suite facilities. Fresh towels, dressing gowns and bedding are also provided for your convenience. The chalets balconies have stunning views across the valley. Inside
The chalet lounge is warm and comfortable and after a great day on the slopes evenings can be spent relaxing around the log fire or visiting a local bar. Alternatively we provide an honesty bar, satellite television and wireless internet access. We also have a selection of board games. So, whatever your choice of entertainment you can be sure to enjoy yourselves and have fun.
Outside
The chalet has a large open garden. It has sun all day long and the late summer sun gives an ideal opportunity for dining outside surrounded by the splendour of the mountains. Alternatively in the winter it has proved popular for igloo and snowman building! At the front of the chalet there is ample parking for those who choose a self drive holiday.

Food is an important part of your holiday.

On the day of your arrival you will be welcomed with a complimentary Champagne reception to help you relax and settle into your holiday. Your evening meal is accompanied by a selection of local red and white wine for you to drink freely until coffee is served. Beers are freely available and please feel free to bring any spirits with you. You may help yourself to tea and coffee as you wish.
Food & Drink
We pride ourselves on the standard of food and wines that we serve in the chalet. We use fresh local produce to create excellent home made food. If you have children in your party we can cater for their individual needs.

Winter
During the winter, for those on a fully catered option, afternoon tea will be laid out for you to help yourself to. We serve a 3 course evening meal accompanied by a selection of red and white wines. Coffee and tea can be taken into the lounge area to enjoy around the open fire.

Summer
During the summer months evening dining is a little less formal and consists of a 2 course evening meal with wine, usually served on the balcony or a barbeque in the garden.

Bedrooms
There is plenty of room in our spacious bedrooms. Our rooms are kept to a high standard and can garuantee a pleasurable and comfortable stay. All have en suite facilities.
Games Room
A great place for the children to escape to. They can watch DVD’s play Playstation games and generally enjoy themselves.

The Chalet Bus
During the winter season we will run you to and from the slopes, which proves very popular for tired legs. Each morning we drop guests to the Ardent Lift right at the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski region and the meeting place for ski school. For non-skiers this is also a great lift to take coming up the mountain to meet your party for lunch. After a hard days skiing we will collect you and return you to the chalet in time for afternoon tea and cakes.

Our airport transfer service operates to and from Geneva Airport which is approximately 60 km away (1 hour 15 minutes). The mini bus is fitted with the latest safety belts and we also have a limited number of adjustable child seats available. Lift Passes
During the winter season we will help you to organise your lift-pass (photographs are not required for any passes), escort you to the ski-hire shop and help you to arrange the most suitable ski-school and guiding. We will be on hand should any problems arise during your holiday. A Portes du Soleil 6 day lift pass costs £119 (Euro182) for adults and £80 (Euro123) for children aged 5-15yrs. Children under 5yrs old go for free. If you are arriving on an early flight into Geneva or snow train in to Thonon you can be on the slopes by lunchtime in Morzine or Avoriaz. St jean D’aulps and Ski Resort of La Grande Terche
St Jean d’Aulps (www.saintjeandaulps.com) is a typical Savoyarde village approximately 5 km from Morzine and 8 km from Avoriaz. During the winter the village offers 34 km of downhill ski slopes plus a range of cross-country and other mountain activities. There is also a friendly local bar, shops and restaurants only a few minutes walk way from the chalet. During summer 200 km of sign-posted footpaths take you all the way to the top of the mountains. Exploring these paths is an ideal way for you to find different villages, mountain lakes and taking in the beautiful views of rich alpine fauna and flora.
Morzine
Morzine is one of the 12 resorts in France and Switzerland which comprise the ‘Portes du Soleil’ ski area – the largest ski area in the world. It has a wealth of facilities for skiers and non-skiers alike. Whilst Morzine has developed into a modern resort with all the facilities you would expect, it has also retained the beauty and character of the original village.
